One puppy long legs is born every four
years, on the 29th of February. An accidental cross between a cranefly
and a labrador puppy, due to a hilarious clerical error it is officially
classified as a form of beaver!
The Puppy Long Legs has the head of a
puppy, supported by enormous spindly legs. It is as big as a room, and
as a result of this can never leave the room in which it was born. As it
is born, it slithers out with a triumphant cry of "Puppy Long Legs!" It
is then silent until the day of its death, when it says "Puppy Long Legs"
again.

The constantly evolving puppy long legs
is capable of counting up to six. Numbers greater than six anger the creature,
and angered puppy long legs are prone to saying "Puppy Long Legs" prematurely,
thus bringing about their untimely demise. The development of a new breed
of puppy long legs, that can say "Puppy Long Legs" many times, like a wasp,
is to be feared as one of the seven signs of the apocalypse.
